Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-06

Now is a focus tool that hides on-screen time and helps you enter a state of flow. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.

The short version

Now does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Everything the extension records stays on your own computer. There are no servers, no analytics, no trackers, and no third parties. The extension makes zero network requests.

What the extension stores (locally, on your device)

To show you your focus history, Now saves the following using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local), which lives only in your browser profile:

This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. You can erase all of it at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage from chrome://extensions.

Permissions and why they are needed

Optional waitlist (website only)

The extension's "Get notified" button opens this website, where you may optionally enter your email address to be notified when Premium features launch. This is entirely voluntary and happens on the website, not inside the extension — the extension never collects or transmits your email or any other data. If you join the waitlist, we use your email solely to send you that one launch notification, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing us at the address below. We do not sell or share it.

Data sharing

None. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to running the extension on your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
